Idris

Idris is a newly built shepherd's hut for two, handcrafted from recycled materials, set in seclusion in its own three-acre meadow at 1,300ft with sweeping views over the Cambrian Mountains, part of the small, owner-run Belan Bluebell Woods site on Pantmaenog Farm near Llanidloes in Mid Wales. It's a properly private, off-grid-feeling retreat: a comfy memory-foam double bed (made up with electric blanket and hot water bottles) positioned so you get the down-the-valley view from your pillow, big windows over a breakfast bar, a private parking area, an undercover camp kitchen with fridge, crockery and gas BBQ, a firepit brazier with logs and marshmallows, and a wood-fired Swedish bath outside. A welcome hamper with homemade lemon drizzle cake greets you, with a butcher/baker pre-order service available. South-facing and wonderfully remote, hosted by Suzi, who's widely praised in reviews.
